August 22, 2008, Marigot Dominica ………The Marigot Development Corporation (MDC) released the book portion of its secondary scholarship award to four students.

The parents/guardians of Wilma Davis & Jovan Dorsette (2008 Awardees) and Nadessha Francis and Shane Alexander (2007 Awardees) received cheques, in a small ceremony at the MDC Office in Marigot. The scholarships also provide support for transportation for the students. The MDC will be therefore responsible for direct payments to the selected transportation provider(s).

Michael Pascal, the MDC representative at the event, welcomed the parents and students to the MDC family. He reminded then that if they continued to work together as a team that they could ensure many successes, academic and otherwise. They were encouraged to maintain the basic requirements of the scholarship, as continuation of the support depends on it. Pascal also stressed the cultivation of the habit for community participation as essential to the overall development of the young Marigotians.
